Aurea Freniere was born in 1978 and raised between USA and México.
She studied English Literature and later on decided to switch books for colors and dedicated her life to her true passion: cartoons. She’s worked in several animated movies, shorts and series as a background artist and as a color script artist. In between, she worked as a writer for several mexican magazines (animation related -Conexión Manga, among others) as well as comic script writer and as a comic artist and illustrator (Porrua, Vanguardia, etc). She’s also a certified translator and has worked adapting comics and manga for Editorial Vid.
She’s currently working in advertising for White Knight Creative Productions and as a free lance back ground artist and story board artist for other studios. In 2014 she left Oubilette Studio which she co-founded along classmate, ex roomate and partner in crime Adalisa Zárate, to continue her career as a graphic artist. She’s currently working on her first graphic novel titled “The Black Violin” which will be released at the end of the year.
